Nick Taylor

Nick Taylor

Nick Taylor is an artist based in London. His paintings are influenced by the simple forms and flat picture planes of pre-historic cave paintings and indigenous art, and by the wild hedonistic colour palettes of 20th century artists like Matisse and Hockney. Of the many indigenous artistic traditions of the world, he is particularly drawn to Polynesian, Australian Aboriginal and Huicol traditions. Nick Taylor’s paintings also emerge from his practice as a shamanic practitioner and teacher, exploring some of the fantastic environments, creatures and figures he meets during dreams and shamanic journeys.
