U Min Kyi

U Min Kyi (1940 - 2008)

The late Myanmar Artist, U Min Kyi was born on 4 November 1940 in his family's farm in Kayin Hla Village near Hinthada Town. Many of his oil paintings were of outdoor sceneries, he believed that colours were just there to deceive the viewers and his strong idea was to captivate the viewers by presenting art with sincerity and simplicity. In fulfilling his one lifelong wish, Merlin Gallery held his solo exhibition "Outdoor Days" in 2015.
